The new BMW M4 CS is absolutely dripping with sex appeal and has a spec sheet to back up its seductive looks. But what’s it like to drive?

To find out, AutoTopNL jumped behind the wheel of an example finished in San Marino Blue and took it through a number of forest roads. The review also features a high-speed run along the Nurburgring, perfectly showcasing just how potent the tweaked M4 is.

Designed to slot between the M4 GTS and the M4 Competition Package, the twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine of the car has been uprated to a healthy 454 hp and 442 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque. When mated to a dual-clutch seven-speed automatic transmission, it can sprint from 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.9 seconds, or 0.3 seconds quicker than the M4 Competition.

Beyond its engine upgrades, the M4 CS comes complete with 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers clamping down on carbon ceramic discs. There are also stiffer springs and dampers, larger roll bars and 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels as standard, while weight saving measures mean the M4 CS is 32 kg (71 lbs) lighter than a normal M4.
