The 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is an absolute beast. Need proof? Watch this video of the front-engine supercar spewing flames for a full 12-seconds on a track.

Captured during prototype testing of the ZR1, the clip shows the car accelerating at full throttle while shooting bright blue flames. It really looks as if the car has small rockets at the back rather than tailpipes.

Although we’ll have to wait until journalists get their hands on the new ZR1 to see if it lives up to the hype, the figures published by General Motors indicate that it will be an absolute animal.

Sitting at the heart of the ZR1 is a 6.2-liter supercharged LT5 V8 engine delivering 755 hp and 715 lb-ft of torque. This engine can be paired to either an eight-speed automatic transmission or seven-speed manual and will send the ZR1 to a top speed exceeding 210 mph (337 km/h). Chevrolet also believes the car will set a sub-7-minute lap at the Nurburgring.
