As sad as it is to admit, the second season of The Grand Tour is almost two-thirds complete. Fortunately, episode 9 has the makings of one of the best shows this season.

Set to hit Amazon Prime on Friday, the latest episode will focus on a blast from the past as Jeremy Clarkson drives an Aston Martin DB4GT Lightweight while Richard Hammond experiences the legendary Jaguar XKSS.

Based on this trailer, it is difficult to know if the XKSS in question is an original or instead one of the recent continuation models. Either way, it looks superb.

To shake the test up, James May will jump behind the wheel of the all-new Honda Civic Type R, a car which he claims is better in every way than the two iconic British sports cars. He’ll have to think up a pretty compelling argument if it wants us to agree.

As for this week’s new car review, Clarkson is set to drive the 2017 Ford GT, a supercar that first set the internet abuzz more than three years ago at the Detroit Auto Show. On last week’s episode, the Lamborghini Huracan Performante set a new track record for a road car on the Eboladrome. We expect the GT pose a serious challenge.

Last but not least will be the Celebrity Face Off segment, this week featuring Stewart Copeland from The Police and Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason, an avid car enthusiast.
