There aren’t many Mercedes G-Class Cabrios around in the US, so finding one that’s pretty much spotless is always an interesting find.
This particular GE 300 also benefits from having its interior done by none other than ICON, the restoration specialists behind some of the most impressive trucks out there.
Inside, the cabin in dressed with Chilewich upholstery and all dark wood trim pieces are newly redone. Also there’s a new lockable storage as well as a new custom insulated convertible top with removable windows, among other.
All lights have been replaced with LED units, including the headlights while the bumpers are now heavy-duty US-style steel items. The seller also claims that the all vacuum leaks and various issues have been sorted and describes the car as being in perfect condition.
The truck was legally imported from Italy in 2016 and the restoration took one year to be completed. The odometer shows 44,000 miles. The seller claims that he bought it for $60,000 and paid an extra $40,000 to bring this truck to its current condition.
These GE300s are powered by a 3.0-liter straight-six diesel engine producing 177hp. The specific car is also fitted with the desirable automatic transmission. And just in case you forgot, it also comes with three locking differentials that are operated via switches on the dash.
Of course being a G-Class, this truck was never going to be cheap; the asking price currently on Ebay sits at $95,000 which is fair to say is a lot of money. Then again this is a near-perfect G-Class Cabrio that just came out of ICON!
