TV host and avid car collector Jay Leno was given early access to the new 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt, as well as to the unrestored original movie car.
Built to pay tribute to one of the most famous movie cars of all time, the new Ford Mustang Bullitt is painted at the same Dark Highland Green as the original and features a set of 19-inch black alloy wheels.
Other revisions include red Brembo brake calipers, an exclusive front grille and an upgraded 5.0-liter V8 that produces 475hp and 420lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual gearbox is the only option while Ford has also installed a new exhaust for a proper, Hollywood-like V8 soundtrack.
Of course the star of the reveal was none other from the original 1968 Mustang that was used during the fliming of the Bullitt movie. This specific car was one of the two cars used in the film, and was hidden away for almost four decades. Thus, it was considered long lost before Ford and the car’s owner got together for the new Bullitt’s reveal.
Owned currently by Sean Kiernan, this gorgeous dark green Mustang is without any doubt one of the most desirable classic muscle cars out there, with its value estimated at around $4 million.
