Following the unveiling of the Lamborghini Urus in early December, the Italian marque has been taking the super SUV around the world and showing it off to customers and the press.
Most recently, a pair touched down in London, one painted in a dark shade of blue and the other in a flamboyant yellow.
When we first heard the Urus on video, we criticized its lack of an exhaust note fitting of a Lamborghini. However, the two examples filmed here sound very nice, probably because ¬they were cold on startup. Nevertheless, it seems pretty apparent that Lamborghini has gone to some lengths to ensure the SUV’s VW Group-sourced 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine sounds unique.
Lamborghini has lofty goals for the Urus. Not only does it plan to snag a Nurburgring SUV record but the automaker also expects the Urus to double its annual sales.
As mentioned, sitting at the heart of the SUV is a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that delivers 650 hp. That’s enough to send the Urus to 62 mph in 3.6 seconds and through to a 190 mph top speed. In the near future, the Urus will be offered with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, becoming the first Lamborghini production car to adopt electrification.
