The Lamborghini Aventador has been around for roughly seven years but it’s still got some life in it. If these spy images are any indication, the Italian marque is going to ensure the supercar goes out with a bang.

In November last year, a pair of spy images surfaced reportedly showing a potential Aventador Performante, based around the facelifted Aventador S. What we have here appears to be the latest Performante prototype, now adorned with even more outlandish aerodynamic parts.

At the rear, the car is simply other-worldly. For starters, it has a similar exhaust setup to the Huracan Performante and adopts a menacing diffuser. Cast your eyes upwards and you’ll notice a huge rear wing with intriguing uprights that extend vertically and then horizontally where they meet up with the wing’s endplates. It could very well be an example of the latest version of Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA).

Final upgrades visible at the rear include a small shark fin just in front of the wing and a unique engine cover.

A host of modifications have also been made to the front and sides. There appear to be extended side skirts as well as enlarged side air intakes to feed the upgraded 6.5-liter V12 engine. Additionally, the front nose consists of an extended splitter, revised air intakes and aerodynamic slats similar to those from the Huracan Performante.

It is difficult to say how much power this hardcore Aventador will have but a horsepower figure approaching 800 seems likely.
