The all-new Mercedes-Benz G-Class just made its world debut at the Detroit Auto Show, yet the renderings have already started coming in.
This one, drawn by Aksyonov Nikita, visualizes it as an AMG. The changes are very subtle, and they include a new front bumper, an AMG-specific grille, horizontal LED DRLs flanking the headlamps and new wheels.
When it comes out, the sportier version of the G-Class may, or may not, look like this, but whatever the case may be, we expect the Mercedes-AMG G63 to have a tuned suspension and steering, larger brakes and,. of course, AMG’s striking and sonorous 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8.
This force-fed engine has an immense potential, and in its most powerful form (in the new E63 S) it churns out a whopping 604hp (612PS) and 627lb-ft (850Nm) of torque, which is probably what we should expect from the upcoming GT R Black Series, too.
For the moment, though, Mercedes hasn’t announced anything about a new range-topping version of the 2019 G-Class, but the regular models will arrive in US showrooms by the end of this year, subsequent to its launch in Germany and other European markets in June.
