A Tesla Model S in the Netherlands has been saved by a traffic sign after a solar panel decided to fall directly above the electric sedan.
There aren’t any details about exactly what happened available, but the pictures really do speak a thousand words and it is clear that the Tesla owner was very lucky.
The Model S can be seen parked at the charging station and as if by some miracle, the sign at the station acted as a shield from the falling solar panel, preventing what could have been serious damage to the Tesla.
As for how the solar panel fell down, or even where the solar panel came from, it is difficult to know, but it is certainly possible that it somehow flew off the roof of a local building. If we were this Tesla owner, this near-miss would prompt us to only park in undercover garages.
Interestingly, if Elon Musk has his way, solar panels of this type won’t exist for much longer. Not too long ago, Tesla unveiled its Solar Roof, a roof made up of compact solar panels which resemble the look of traditional tiles. If one of Tesla’s solar tiles were to fly off a roof, it would probably destroy everything in its path. Well, at least that’s what Musk would like to think, previously spruiking the impressive strength qualities of the tiles.
