The Chevrolet Corvette has always been a performance bargain. With its affordable price tag, Corvette is meant to be driven and enjoyed, not put away in a storage unit. But this 2009 Chevrolet C6 Corvette Z06 on eBay was abandoned in a storage unit with only 720 miles on the odometer.
No, that’s not a typo. This C6 Z06 is practically brand new and has been tucked away from the elements in a garage. Apparently, the seller found this particular vehicle abandoned in a storage place that he/she purchased. Maybe storage unit finds are the new barn finds.
The story gets a little stranger, as the listing claims that the vehicle has never been registered and doesn’t come with any paperwork. So, we’re left with numerous questions. Why did the owner leave the vehicle there? Why wasn’t the car registered? And, more crucially, how long as the car been sitting there?
The answer to the last question is probably a long time. According to the pictures, the seller found the vehicle covered in a thick coating of dust and a pretty-banged-up front fascia. The listing also states that the vehicle has its original set of tires.
While we have some doubts about being able to obtain a clean title for the vehicle, this is the only chance to get an essentially-brand-new C6 Z06. It features a 7.0-liter V8 engine that cranks out 505 horsepower and is blisteringly quick even by today’s standards.
We don’t usually recommend purchasing a vehicle that’s been sitting for a long time, as there could be numerous issues that need to be cleared up. But even if this C6 Z06 takes some money to get back to usable status, it’s worth it as the Z06 is an absolute monster.
With less than a day of bidding left, the C6 Z06 currently has 151 bids, with the highest so far being $56,900.
