Yesterday, Red Bull Racing and its title sponsor Aston Martin revealed the new RB14, wearing a special livery for its first session out on track. However, the F1 car wasn’t the only one decked out in the unique color scheme.
Along with it, the team also brought out an Aston Martin DB11 sporting the same color scheme. Little was said about the one-of-a-kind British grand tourer, but we can tell all we need to know from just looking at it. The DB11 is covered in a dark blue digi-camo wrap and features the logo of the racing team in white along its flank.
Aston and Red Bull have been forging an ever-closer relationship that extends beyond the former’s title-sponsorship of the latter. The two have been working together on the development of the new Valkyrie. There’s also been ongoing talk of an F1 engine-supply deal, and the automaker has even set up a new technical center at the racing team’s home base in Milton Keynes, England – about an hour’s drive east of Aston’s headquarters in Gaydon.
It’s one of several new facilities that Aston Martin is setting up across the UK. It also recently re-inaugurated its historic home at Newport Pagnell to continue production of the classic DB4 GT, and is in the process of setting up a new factory at a former air base in Wales to build the forthcoming new DBX crossover.
