Driving an Aston Martin, you’d likely feel like James Bond. In this one, we’d imagine, even more so.
This particular Vanquish is the property of one Daniel Craig – the actor we all know for his portrayal of agent 007 in the latest Bond movies: Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, and Spectre.
The Vanquish in question is a Centenary Edition, one of just a hundred made to celebrate Aston’s hundredth anniversary in 2014. This one bears the build number 007, and was custom tailored to Craig’s specifications by the company’s chief designer Marek Reichman, decked out in dark blue inside and out to reflect the actor’s enthusiasm for denim and dark colors.
And it can be yours, for the right price. Craig has donated it for charity, with Christie’s slated to auction it off as part of The Exceptional Sale in New York on April 20. It’s estimated to fetch a good half a million dollars (give or take a hundred grand), with proceeds to benefit The Opportunity Network – an organization that helps young people in developing their careers.
“This Aston Martin Vanquish is a tour de force of automobile engineering and a distinct pleasure to drive,” said Craig. “While I will miss it, I am keen to further the very important work of The Opportunity Network with its sale.”
The car will be on display in Los Angeles between February 27 and March 3 before it’s shipped off to New York for the auction. So if you’re in either city, and want to catch a glimpse, plan on swinging by one of the auction house’s galleries.
