One doesn’t have to drive the latest supercar to stand out in Monaco, as a much humbler Alfa Romeo 4C can do the trick just as well.
With a starting price of €63,500 ($78,303) in Germany, for the base model, it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg either, although it’s not exactly a best-seller, with only 407 examples moved last year.
Choosing the entry-level model doesn’t mean you get less power. On the contrary, all versions are powered by a mid-mounted 1.75-liter petrol engine that churns out 240PS (237hp) and 350Nm (258lb-ft) of torque.
The official naught to 100km/h (0-62mph) sprint takes only 4.5 seconds and top speed stands at 258km/h (160mph). That’s 0.6sec faster than the entry-level Porsche 718 Cayman, which is some 10,000 ($12,330) cheaper.
So, given that the 4C models isn’t that popular with sports car buyers, spotting one on the road doesn’t happen that often. This brings us to the following video that was shot in the Principality.
The clip shows a couple of Italian sports cars cruising down the streets, and through the famous tunnel, in front of the excited bystanders.
The red example appears to have an aftermarket exhaust system fitted to it, hence the deeper symphony emanating from it.
Enough chit-chat, though; you can scroll down and check out the video for yourselves.
