David Brown Automotive (DBA) is giving us a final glimpse inside the new Speedback Silverstone Edition, before its official presentation in Geneva, next week.
Named after the famous Silverstone airfield and track, it’s basically a limited edition version of the already available Speedback GT, which starts from £520,000 (equal to $726,192), before taxes and shipping.
Being limited to only 10 examples, all of them built by hand at the firm’s Silverstone facilities, the upcoming limited edition grand tourer will be more expensive, with pricing yet to be announced.
Other teasers released by DBA partially reveal its headlights, LED tech and ‘Silverstone Edition’ badging. Now we also have these sport seats wrapped in tan leather, and embroidered with the Silverstone airfield map.
Nothing else is known about the car so far, except that it will have in excess of 600 horsepower. By comparison, the current Speedback GT is good for ‘only’ 510PS (503hp) and 625Nm (461lb-ft) of torque, produced by a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine.
The regular model shares its nuts and bolts with the Jaguar XKR, pays tribute to the iconic Aston Martin DB5, and has a hand-crafted aluminum body work. It also gets plenty of modern features, including an infotainment system, USB charging ports, keyless go and push-button start, so we expect the Silverstone Edition to be very similar.
