In their latest ad for the 718 Boxster, Porsche suggests that the car you love to drive can have interesting consequences concerning your footwear.
While it’s highly unlikely that pressing the pedals on your German sports car will ever cause your shoes to deteriorate, the video does a good job of reminding us that some automobiles are meant to be enjoyed, rather than be used as an A to B means of transportation.
In GTS spec, the 718 Boxster is indeed one of those automobiles. Like its Cayman sibling, this Boxster sends 365 PS (360 HP) and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) of torque to its rear wheels.
Go for the PDK version and you’ll be sprinting to 100 km/h (62 mph) in a very lively 4.3 seconds. If you really want the soles of your shoes to earn their keep, though, maybe you should opt for the 6-speed manual instead. The downside is a slower acceleration time (0-100 in 4.6 seconds), but then again, shifting with a manual can be more engaging.
Either way, both versions max out at 290 km/h (180 mph), and look good doing it. The 2018 Porsche 718 Boxster is arguably the best looking Boxster ever, and the GTS model adds a new front bumper, black rear apron, tinted lighting units, black GTS badges and satin black 20″ wheels.
Inside, there’s an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel and sports seats, GTS logos embroidered into the headrests, the Sport Chrono Pack as standard and a revised PCM system.
