David Brown Automotive is going to reveal a new limited version of the Speedback GT, dubbed the Silverstone Edition, at the Geneva Motor Show.
The new DBA Speedback Silverstone Edition will feature a more aggressive styling than the GT model it’s based on as well as offer over 600hp.
The British boutique manufacturer released a pair of teaser images showing the car’s badging, saying that their latest model “takes hints from the aeronautical and motorsport heritage of Silverstone” which happens to be the location of the company’s headquarters.
The new performance-focused model will be strictly limited to just 10 examples and will be built by hand alongside the Speedback GT and Mini Remastered at DBA’s Silverstone facilities.
“Speedback Silverstone Edition is the perfect platform for us to hone classically-inspired performance, as we give a nod to our brand’s Silverstone roots, whilst looking ahead to a future of British handcraftsmanship at our bespoke coachbuilding facility,” said David Brown, company founder and CEO.
For those who don’t remember, the Speedback GT is a coachbuilt special that pays homage to the Aston Martin DB5, featuring a hand-crafted aluminum bodywork. The car’s underpinnings come from a Jaguar XKR, including its supercharged 510hp 5.0-liter V8.
The other model in DBA’s range is the Mini Remastered, a true coachbuilt version of the beloved classic that features a brand new and de-seamed body shell along with a strengthened chassis and a more powerful 1.3-liter engine.
David Brown Automotive will reveal the new Speedback Silverstone Edition on March 6 at the Geneva Motor Show.
