Tesla wasn’t just the first automaker to make electric vehicles exhilarating, it was also the first to make them appealing to the eye. The latest-generation Roadster promises to take those selling points to new heights.

First previewed late last year, the new Roadster will arrive early next decade and promises to be the most accelerative production car ever produced, reaching 62 mph (100 km/h) in under 2 seconds. Elon Musk also asserts that it’ll sprint to over 250 mph (402 km/h) and run for up to 620 miles on a single charge.

If these figures are achieved, then the Roadster will certainly have all the performance-oriented boxes ticked. But what about perfecting the art of design?

Well, as these images from a Reddit user reveal, the new Roadster also looks ¬absolutely stunning, particularly under the right light.

This example is most likely the same one which Tesla unveiled in November. Consequently, it features the same red paint scheme, black wheels, red brake calipers, and white leather interior. From every angle, it looks good, especially from the rear which incorporates tiny taillights, a small pop-up spoiler and an extreme diffuser.

It remains to be seen if Tesla has signed off the Roadster’s design for production but we sure hope the exterior remains unchanged.

As for the interior, it could use some work. Beyond featuring a racing-inspired steering wheel and a large central touchscreen, it is completely bare and looks unfinished. Here’s hoping Tesla has something up its sleeve.
