Mercedes-Benz has yet to unveil the A-Class Sedan, but after showing us the new hatch, we presume it won’t be long before we see the saloon some time this year.
The German automaker displayed a concept at the 2017 Shanghai Auto Show, and it was quite impressive. In Shooting Brake guise, it could be absolutely stunning.
These renderings by Aksyonov Nikita depict what an A-Class Shooting Brake could look like if it ever made it into production.
Last year, the automaker said it will draw a clear line between the A-Class sedan and next-generation CLA by launching the latter with fastback styling. The A-Class will, once again, serve as the basis for the CLA, which will use the former’s front-wheel drive platform but adopt its own, distinctive styling and will slot above the A-Class Sedan in Mercedes’ lineup.
In any case, the A-Class Sedan has been confirmed by Merc’s execs for the U.S. market, where the hatch won’t be offered. Said execs also said that this will be the only variant offered in the States and there’s no indication whatsoever that a Shooting Brake is in the brand’s plans, so this is clearly just another case of “what if”.
