Following its global premiere at the SEMA Show last year, Shelby’s widebody package for the sixth-gen Mustang has officially launched.
Available directly from Shelby and its many authorized modification shops worldwide, the widebody package is much more than a simple set of flared wheel arches.
Instead, the new arches, which add 4 inches to the rear track and 2.5-inch at the front, have been paired with optional adjustable coilover suspension, beefed up brakes, hardened wheel studs, stronger spindles and hubs, as well as a set of new wheels and tires. What’s more, the package includes the front spindle, front hub bearings, control arms, lateral links, and tie rod ends from the almighty Mustang GT350.
Of these available parts, it is the coilovers that are sure to most excite Mustang owners. Developed by Penske, the new suspension allows users to adjust ride height, independent compression, and rebound. Consequently, owners will have all the adjustments necessary to create a supple and forgiving road car as well as a performance monster tuned for the track.
Owners of the 2015 and later Shelby GT350 can order the complete catalog of modifications for $18,995. For regular 2015 and later Mustang owners, that price rises to $26,995. Owners of 2015 and later Shelby Super Snakes can get the kit for $22,995.
