Despite loud bangs and crackles being the reason someone fits a custom exhaust to his car, it seems that there are some downsides to making your ride sound like a battle field.
According to the description of the video, no less than a dozen heavily armed officers showed up with automatic assault rifles to investigate what was going on at this garage. As it turned out, what was actually making all that noise was a ridiculously loud Acura Integra.
The owner of the car, Enrique Mendoza, was just playing around with the launch control function outside of his workshop, unaware that the noise could attract that much attention.
“I used launch control while putting my car away and the cops thought it was someone firing an AK-47 and turned up with guns drawn, they were very good about the situation once they realized it was actually the car.”
While the mood did lighten up once the officers realized what actually had happened, they did arrive on location convinced that somebody had fired an automatic weapon – one officer in particular even calls Mendoza a liar. It’s good that things didn’t escalate beyond that and that the owner of the car was given the opportunity to prove where the noise came from.
