Want to feel what it’s like to be driven around a racing circuit by an F1 driver in one of the hotest supercars on road and track? Of course you do – and Pirelli is willing to hook you up.
The Formula 1 Pirelli Hot Laps program will provide just that. Both McLaren and Aston Martin have already signed on and will be giving spectators and celebrities hot laps around the track in cars like the 720S and the new Vantage.
Behind the wheel of the McLaren 720S will be racing drivers Fernando Alonso and Stoffel Vandoorne, the team’s test driver Lando Norris, and its brand ambassador, Mika Hakkinen, while RBR’s Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen will give hot laps in the new Aston Martin Vantage.
“The Formula 1 Pirelli Hot Laps program represents a new opportunity to allow Formula 1 fans to get closer to a real track experience,” says F1’s commercial director Sean Bratches. “The once in a lifetime experience of being driven at speed by a racing driver at iconic race circuits in dream cars is truly unique. We are seeking to be fan first and this is yet another example of our efforts to that end.”
The program will kick off at the Bahrain Grand Prix, the second race on Formula 1’s 2018 calendar, on the weekend of April 8. A further nine races will be added to the program, as will additional F1 teams and automakers.
