You could say it’s a sad day for Tesla enthusiasts around the world as another Model 3 has been totaled during a crash.
With less than a few thousand examples delivered, the Model 3 is still rare. As these images reveal, a Tesla workshop will have its work cut out if it wants to give the electric sedan a second lease on life.
The pictures, shared on Reddit, reveal that the sedan suffered a serious shunt on the passenger side rear quarter panel. The damage was probably caused by another vehicle running up the rear of the Tesla, destroying the quarter panel, wrecking a taillight, and bending the wheel.
The vehicle has been listed by Insurance Auto Auctions and should go under the hammer in the not too distant future. The auction house states that the car’s battery has been partially dismantled and that there are just 1914 miles on the odometer.
Based on the published pictures, it is hard to say for certain whether or not the car could be repaired. However, considering the huge waiting list for the Model 3, we wouldn’t be at all surprised if an eager Tesla fan purchased it in the hopes of having it on the road before Model 3’s become commonplace. Any repair work would probably be very expensive, however.
