Volkswagen has made a minor revision to the Amarok range, in the United Kingdom, by launching a new entry-level Trendline V6.
Powered by a 163PS (161hp) and 450Nm (332lb-ft) of torque version of the 3.0-liter TDI V6 diesel engine, which works together with a six-speed manual gearbox, the base Amarok can be had from £24,510 ($34,458).
Naught to 100km/h (62mph) takes a respectable 9.8sec, and top speed is 177km/h (110mph). VW states that this version of the pickup truck meets the Euro 6 emission standards, and returns a combined 32.5 UK mpg (8.7 l/100 km / 27.06 US mpg).
Tipping the scale at 3,200kg (7,055lbs), the Volkswagen Amarok Trendline V6 TDI has a maximum payload rating of 1,073kg (2,366lbs) and can tow up to 3,000kg (6,614lbs).
The new VW Amarok model rides on 17-inch Posadas alloy wheels and features standard equipment such as the 6.33-inch touchscreen Composition Media Radio, App-Connect, automatic air conditioning, and cruise control.
The automaker has already opened the order books for the truck that slots below the 204PS (201hp) and 224PS (221hp) versions of the V6 TDI engine, but customers will have to wait at least until May to take delivery of the first units.
