Move over Huracan Performante, there’s a new green ‘Ring king on its way and it’s based on a sixth-generation Toyota Celica.

Just kidding, of course; the only way to describe the sheer size of that rear wing/ladder is, well, ridiculous. The image popped up on everyone’s favorite Reddit page for weird tuning jobs, the one appropriately dubbed “Sh***y_Car_Mods”, where somebody with the username i_keep_on_trying spotted the vehicle in traffic.

If you’re wondering where the driver might have gotten the inspiration for such a mod, it’s definitely from the animated movie CARS, and more specifically a character called Wingo.

Wingo was a member of the Tuner Cars gang that at one point (Spoiler Alert!) cause Lightning McQueen to fall out of his trailer, which happened to be fast asleep. Anyway, the mod is then more a reference to the movie rather than something the owner thought was going to make his old Japanese coupe look awesome.

As for how effective the “ladder wing” might be when it comes to increasing the car’s performance, the answer is not very much. In fact, we wouldn’t feel at all comfortable taking it out on the track or anywhere close to its top speed with that thing out in the back. Come to think of it, we wouldn’t be comfortable even being seen in such a thing – but, as the saying goes, to each, his own…
