What do you get by combining the front end of the M8 Gran Coupe with the 8-Series Concept? Well, in all likelihood, the upcoming M8 Coupe.
At least that’s what the top of the 8-Series range model, which will take on the Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe, will look like according to Paul Bracq BMW, a BimmerPost member and the man behind these renderings, who cites an unnamed BMW insider as his source.
Besides taking the front end of the Geneva-launched M8 Gran Coupee Concept and adding it to the 8-Series study presented last year, the car features other virtual work, such as the addition of door handles, mirrors, and license plates. It’s also presented in a variety of colors, so you can see what it looks like in your favorite shade.
In the meantime, M8 prototypes continue to be spotted out in the wild at different locations as BMW continues testing its brand-new super coupe.
The M8 is believed to debut this year, as a 2019MY, and will be powered by the twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 from the new M5, where it generates 600PS (592hp) and 750Nm (553lb-ft) of torque. The M8 Coupe is expected to be able to sprint to 100km/h (62mph) in just a little over 3 seconds, and reach a top speed of 305km/h (189mph), when fitted with the optional M Driver’s Package that lifts the standard 250 km/h (155 mph) electronic limiter.
Besides the Coupe, BMW’ new M8 family will include a Convertible and, of course, a Gran Coupe version, too.
