Sales of the Volkswagen Arteon haven’t even begun in the United States, but the manufacturer has already developed an R-Line package.

Available in the SE, SEL and SEL Premium grades, it will be on the options’ list starting this fall, when the stylish four-door coupe will go on sale across the nation.

The R-Line brings a few sporty exterior details such as a tweaked front bumper with intakes in a glossy black look, R-Line air inlets and cover panels, R-Line badging, glossy black rear spoiler and 19- or 20-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the 2019 Arteon R-Line greets users with a black headliner, metal trim, stainless-steel sport pedal covers, stainless-steel door sills with the R-Line logo and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. All cars benefit from contrast stitching on the steering wheel and shift knob and R-Line logo on the start screen of the infotainment system.

Volkswagen will have the Arteon R-Line package on display at the 2018 New York Auto Show, which starts on March 28 for the Press, before opening for the public two days later.

Pricing for the four-door coupe will be announced later this year, but it’s expected to start at around $30,000-$35,000 in the USA. All cars are powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four that generates 268hp and 258 pound-feet (349Nm) of torque mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. While front-wheel drive is standard, VW says that all trim levels can be specced with all-wheel drive.
