When it comes to late night hosts with incredible cars, we all know that Jay Leno takes the cake. But Conan O’Brien also has an interesting car that he’s kept forever.

That car is a 1992 Ford Taurus SHO and O’Brien took to his YouTube account, Team Coco, to poke fun of the car in an insurance bit.

In this part, which you can watch below, the host talks to a State Farm agent to get an appraisal on some of his prized possessions. One of the things that he wants to appraise is his Taurus SHO. O’Brien walks us, and the agent, through all of the dings and scratches on the vehicle. And while the car looks like it’s seen better days and he makes it sound like a pile of junk, it’s still one heck of a machine.

While the 26-year-old sedan may seem like a basket case, the car was Ford’s attempt at building a performance sedan. It packs a 3.0-liter V6 developed with Yamaha that generates 220 horsepower and 200 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

Sure, O’Brien pokes fun of the Taurus SHO in the video, but he really does like the car. In a 60 Minutes interview from 2010, he gave a close-up look at the sedan and its faults, including the busted driver’s-side mirror. But he stated that he occasionally drove the car back then, which leaves us to believe that he still does to this day.

It’s nice to see someone who clearly has more than enough money to get rid of it has kept his old Taurus SHO. Goes to show that not all well-off individuals want to show off in the latest supercar or luxo-barge but can appreciate a nice car and keep it for a long time.
