Mercedes recently announced plans to introduce the facelifted C-Class Coupe and Convertible at the New York Auto Show and now the Germans confirmed the C63 S Coupe, while Automotive News is reporting it could be joined by the updated C63 sedan as well.

Little is known about the updated model but it will likely follow in the footsteps of the facelifted sedan and coupe which was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month. As a result, we can expect a series of subtle styling tweaks including new bumpers and updated lighting units.

Bigger changes are expected in the interior as the model will likely adopt a new steering wheel, an updated touchpad controller and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

The AMG C63 could also receive updated trim and upholstery combinations, a turbine-style push button ignition and an improved head-up display. Other upgrades are expected to include a 10.25-inch infotainment system and an improved voice control system which responds to additional commands such as turning on the heated seats.

Speaking of technology updates, the car should have improved driver assistance systems such as Active Emergency Stop Assist and an Active Steering Assist system with Active Lane Change Assist. There could also be new camera and radar systems that allow the vehicle to see farther ahead than before.

The biggest unknown remains whether or not the car’s twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine will see any performance boosts. It currently produces 469 hp (349 kW) and 479 lb-ft (648 Nm) of torque in the standard model, while the C63 S has 503 hp (375 kW) and 516 lb-ft (698 Nm) of torque. In the latter configuration, the model rockets from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds.
