Thinking of picking up a new Lincoln Navigator? Your choice comes down to one engine.

It’s the 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 from the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, packing the same 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft (691 Nm) of torque – which is pretty impressive for such a relatively small engine. But Hennessey can do better.

The Texas tuner is the first to offer performance enhancements for the big luxury SUV, boosting its output all the way up to 600 hp.

Hennessey achieved that figure by reprogramming the engine’s software, and fitting a high-flow induction system, stainless steel exhaust, and a larger front-mounted intercooler system with blow-off valve. They’re the same enhancements the tuner applies to its upgraded VelociRaptor 600.

“The 2018 Navigator is a world-class luxury SUV and we wanted to take its already impressive power and performance to the next level,” said John Hennessey. “Over the past 12 months we have built and delivered hundreds of VelociRaptor 600 upgrades to our new Ford Raptor clients. It made perfect sense to offer a similar upgrade package for the new Navigator, which has essentially the same engine.”

To go with the tuned engine, Hennessey has dropped the suspension, and mounted the SUV on forged monoblock alloys, packed with Brembo disc brakes to keep things in check. The result of all these upgrades, according to the tuner, is a 0-60 time of just 4.8 seconds, and a quarter-mile time of 12.9 seconds at 107 mph (172 km/h).
