Hyundai first introduced their Le Fil Rouge Concept to the world earlier this month, at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, and the feedback has been quite positive.
In order to create an appealing design, the Korean automaker based the concept’s proportions on a golden ratio – or so they say, although, it doesn’t take a mathematician to realize that a long wheelbase, large wheels and short overhangs work really well together.
While the concept is nothing more than a design study that hints at the brand’s styling direction, the future seems to be very bright for Hyundai, especially if their upcoming cars look anything like this.
But what if we took the Le Fil Rouge and gave it a more practical front end, side mirrors and door handles? Designer Aksyonov Nikita wondered the exact same thing and went to work on drawing up this production-ready version of the concept, dubbed iFuture – because of course it has an “i” in its name.
The overall shape of the vehicle remains the same, looking a little bit ahead of its time, much like the Tesla Model S did back when it first broke cover in 2012.
Unfortunately we’re still a long ways away from Hyundai actually building a fully-electric, futuristic-looking saloon, with at least Level 4 autonomous capabilities, which something like the Le Fil Rouge would need to have in order to gain credibility.
