This year’s Geneva Motor Show, to the delight of enthusiasts, saw automakers reveal a whole bunch of supercars and track monsters. One of the most impressive was the McLaren Senna GTR, which promised to be more of everything that made the regular Senna such a track weapon. Although it was officially a concept, it looks like all 75 units of the Senna GTR have officially been accounted for.
According to Autocar, which spoke with a McLaren spokesperson, the automaker has found a home for every single example of the extremely limited-edition track car. Well, we can’t say we were surprised, as as McLaren Automotive CEO Mike Flewitt stated that 50 examples of the Senna GTR were accounted for when it came out.
Despite having a price tag of $1.4 million, McLaren had 150 people express interest in purchasing a Senna GTR at Geneva. Whittling down a list of 150 prospective buyers to 25 may have been a daunting task for the people at Woking. At the same time, those that have managed to secure one just to flip it over to the ‘used’ car market for a quick buck must be extremely satisfied, as they will be able to charge huge premiums for it.
While the vehicle on display at Geneva was near-production ready, McLaren says it still wants to add some more things to it. The final Senna GTR will have around 825 horsepower from its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 and is expected to get a race-style gearbox that should be more track-oriented than McLaren’s seven-speed of the road-going Senna, making for an even more raw experience.
