MS-RT Ford Transit Custom Gets The Job Done In Style

MS-RT have presented their latest project – a Ford Transit Custom with plenty of exterior and interior updates.

Described as “a vehicle that allows its owner to get the job done, but also look good in the process”, it will go on sale next month in the UK, and each one is handcrafted locally.

Among the changes made to its exterior are the new front bumper, grille, wide body arch extensions, sills, rear diffuser and spoiler. All of these components are made by the company in Pontypool, South Wales, and are said to be influenced by the M-Sport rally team.

Other features include a twin-sport exhaust system, which is also British-made, MS-RT exterior branding and decals and Eibach lowering springs. Finally, a set of 18-inch Anthracite OZ Racing alloy wheels, wrapped in Hankook Ventus S1 Evo2 tires, round up the list of visual updates on the exterior.

MS-RT hasn’t released any images of the interior yet, but they claim that their Ford Transit Custom benefits from Nappa leather, suede seat facings, distinct sports steering wheel with carbon fiber inlays, specially-branded dials and floor mats.

All vehicles tuned by MS-RT get Ford’s SYNC3 infotainment system with sat-nav, reversing camera, 230V power convertor, heated seats and windscreen, HID headlights with integrated DRLs, parking sensors, dual-side loading doors and loadspace lighting.

Power comes from a 2.0-liter diesel engine that makes 170PS (168hp) and 405Nm (299lb-ft) of torque. The unit works together with a standard six-speed manual or an optional six-speed automatic gearbox.

Besides choosing from two transmissions, customers will also have to decide whether the two-seat panel van is best for them, or if they would rather have the three-seat panel van, five-seat double cab and six-seat double-cab, with short or long wheelbases and tailgate or twin back doors.
