Mitsubishi has revealed a new special edition of the L200 in Britain, called the Barbarian SVP II, which is the second model to be produced by their Special Vehicles Projects division.
Building on the success of the original SVP version, the new L200 Barbarian SVP II features a vivid two-tone color scheme, as well as a model-specific appearance inside and out.
Mitsubishi UK will offer just 250 examples of the SVP II, with half of them finished in pearlescent Diamond Black and the other half in metallic Atlantic Grey. Both of them feature orange detailing for a “striking contrast”, letting the crowds know that your L200 is more exclusive than the others.
The exterior is also complimented by features such as the 17-inch bespoke black-orange alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires, aggressive wheel arch extensions, as well as a new SVP grille and roof rails.
Things like the fog lamp rings, front and rear light bezels, door handle recess covers, puddle lamps and the tailgate handle surround are all finished in orange. Load bed illumination and a spring-assisted tailgate with a soft-opening damper are also included in the long list of standard features.
The special color scheme continues inside, including ‘six-pack’ leather seats with orange suede-like inserts and matching stitching and piping, a plaque with an individual limited edition number and various ‘SVP’ logos around the cabin.
Power comes from Mitsubishi’s 177hp 2.4-liter turbodiesel engine linked to the Super Select 4WD system. Customers will be offered a six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters on the steering.
The new Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian SVP II is available to order now in the UK, with prices starting from £29,830 ($41,880 in current exchange rates) excluding VAT.
