Qashqai buyers in the UK can now purchase the compact crossover with ProPilot, Nissan’s most advanced driver assistance system.

ProPilot is available as a £795 option on both Tekna and Tekna+ models powered by dCi 130 diesels with the Xtronic automatic transmission and bringing the starting price to £31,275 for the Tekna dCi 130 Xtronic version.

“The addition of ProPilot will underpin and strengthen the Qashqai’s position as Europe’s number one crossover,” stated Nissan Europe general manager Ryan Gains, adding that this technology helps demonstrate the automaker’s “commitment to deliver a more confident, more exciting and more connected future for drivers.”

ProPilot can assist drivers with steering, acceleration and braking. It works in a single lane on highways and can handle both low-speed congestion as well as high-speed cruising.

Meanwhile, dCi 130 models with manual transmissions get a Drive Assist Pack for £495. It boasts Intelligent Lane Intervention, Intelligent Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist – so it can do pretty much everything the ProPilot can, except coming to a complete stop and then resuming driving.

In order to celebrate the arrival of ProPilot on the Qashqai in the UK, Nissan is also introducing a Pilot One Edition that’s based on the range-topping Tekna+ grade and is priced from £33,380. Naturally, it features ProPilot as standard and also comes with a Storm White Pearlescent body color, Plum Nappa leather interior, Xtronic Sports Pedals, a Chrome Exterior Styling Pack and ‘Pilot One Edition’ badges on the door entry guards and the interior.
