Barbecue is a big deal Down South, like in Canton, Mississippi, where the Nissan Titan is made. Now Nissan has brought the two together with this rolling smoker truck.
Called the “Smokin’ Titan,” the show truck is based on a Titan XD King Cab, modified as a mobile kitchen with everything – literally including the kitchen sink.
To start with, Nissan removed the bed and put it on a B&S Custom trailer to keep the heat away from the vehicle itself and make more room for other stuff. On that trailer, it fitted a Lang BBQ Smoker and Char Grill, mounted on a sliding tray and stowing beneath a Diamondback SE tonneau cover.
Where the stock bed was, Nissan fitted an aluminum assembly from CM Truck Beds, where it mounted a double-burner prep stove, a Churassco Brazilian wood cutting board, and a Teton steel sink (replaceable with a Yeti cooler for additional cold storage). And where the back seat was, it mounted an ARB fridge and freezer with 50 quarts (47 liters) of space inside.
“With its available innovative bed features, lockable Titan boxes, Rockford Fosgate premium audio system and luxurious interior, the Titan XD is a fantastic tailgating truck as is,” said Nissan’s US truck chief Billy Hayes. “But the incredible enhancements made to convert a stock Titan into the Smokin’ Titan – a built-in smoker, stove and spice rack – make it a dream for those who love to spend time with friends and family smoking meat, as I do myself.”
The Smokin’ Titan will be on display at the Work Truck Show in Indianapolis this weekend, and will tour other events across the country in the months ahead. Summer’s coming, after all. And that means BBQ season.
