The Super 8 hotel chain is celebrating its recent renovations by announcing plans to unveil the RoadM8 concept at the New York Auto Show.

Based on the outgoing Jeep Wrangler JK, the RoadM8 is being billed as a “fully customized, road-trip ready concept car highlighting the best that Super 8 hotels have to offer.”

Starting with the exterior, the concept has a custom yellow and black livery which features red accents on the front bumper, wheels and grille. The Wrangler has also been outfitted with auxiliary lights and a roof rack which holds a cargo carrier.

Bigger changes occur in the cabin as the interior has custom accents inspired by the $100 million worth of renovations which were recently completed at more than 1,800 Super 8 hotels in North America. As a result, the concept has bespoke seats which are upholstered in fabric that draws inspiration from the new hotel bed sheets. The hotel-inspired design is visible elsewhere as there’s yellow air vent surrounds and wood trim on the steering wheel, dashboard and door panels.

Besides the special styling cues, the Wrangler has been equipped with hotel amenities such as a coffee maker and mini-fridge. The concept has also artwork underneath the hood and two Samsung tablets which showcase art that from the revamped hotel rooms.

Since the concept is based on the Wrangler JK, it likely has a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 285 hp (212 kW) and 260 lb-ft (352 Nm) of torque. It is connected to an automatic transmission which sends power to the ground via a four-wheel drive system.

While it’s odd that a hotel chain would use an auto show to introduce a custom concept, the model is certainly unique and will help to get their message across thanks to its hotel-inspired upgrades.
