Finding your car buried in snow is definitely not how you want to kick off your holiday. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened last week in the North Caucasus republic of Kabardino-Balkaria.
The mountain whose wrath was unleashed upon the vehicles is none other than Mount Elbrus, which at 5,642 meters (18,510 ft) represents the peak of the North Caucasus range, while also being one of the biggest mountains in the world.
As you can see from the footage, the snow came down slowly but surely, hitting a parking lot and damaging over a dozen vehicles – most likely double that number, since that first row of cars was pushed back towards a second row, parked right outside a building.
Based on the video’s description, the snow didn’t hit any major infrastructure and no reports were filed regarding people suffering injuries. So not only was there nobody struck by the snow directly, but nobody was trapped inside a vehicle either.
All in all, we wouldn’t be at very surprised if some of those vehicles were damaged beyond repair, suffering broken windshields, bent roofs and pillars (especially on some of the older models), not to mention all sorts of other dents.
