Want your little one to grow up loving cars as much as you do? Then you’ll want to get him or her the right toys to get started from a young age. Like these little Maseratis, for example.
The toy wood cars stem out of a partnership between Maserati and Playsam Design of Sweden – and they look simply gorgeous.
Revealed at the Geneva Motor Show just last week, the line includes small-scale and highly stylized interpretations of Maseratis old and new, from the classic 4CLT grand prix racer and A6G sports car to the modern Levante crossover and Alfieri concept.
There’ll be up to ten models on offer once the entire line is complete, and for our part, we can already see classics like the original Ghibli, Merak, and Khamsin fitting in nicely.
“The playful and elegant clean design of Playsam in combination with an over 30 years history of high quality production is a perfect match for Maserati,” said the automaker. The Swedish toy company has undertaken similar partnerships with Volvo and Saab, among other vehicle and transport companies like SAS Scandinavian Airlines.
We don’t have full pricing and availability information, but Playsam’s five-inch miniatures typically retail for about $70. Seven-inch-long versions of the Alfieri and Levante made of solid walnut are already listed for $377. And there’ll be other items as well, including art work, stationary, electronics, and even ride-on toys.
“Italian and Scandinavian design is the ultimate collaboration. The clean and streamlined design heritage from Sweden perfectly matches the design and brand values of Maserati,” said Playsam founder and CEO Carl Zedig. “We are very excited to collaborate with this iconic Italian brand.”
