Mercedes continues the development of the facelifted GLC SUV, with a new test car spotted hiding the upcoming changes.
The mid-life facelift of the Mercedes GLC will follow the same route with the recently revealed C-Class facelift; that means that exterior changes will be subtle, with Mercedes focusing instead on offering more tech, including their latest Multibeam LED headlights.
The biggest aesthetic revisions can be found inside, as the updated Mercedes GLC will adopt a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an upgraded head-up display and a new 10.25-inch infotainment system with a redesigned interface and a touchpad controller with haptic feedback.
Also new will be the three-spoke steering wheel that incorporates touch-sensitive controls, a feature first seen in the S-Class. The range of safety and driver-assistance systems will also be updated as the facelifted GLC will be fitted with improved camera and radar hardware, just like the 2019 C-Class did.
The engine range will be updated with the company’s latest engines, including the replacement of the old 2.1-liter diesel unit with the more modern 195hp 2.0-liter one for Euro-spec models. A nine-speed automatic transmission will be fitted as standard.
The facelifted Mercedes GLC is expected to hit the European market in 2019, with the US following shortly after.
