It seems that the new Alfa Giulia QV can handle almost anything that’s thrown at it with poise and determination.
It definitely has the performance corner covered, thanks to its 2.9-liter turbocharged V6, which has been “tuned by engineers with a Ferrari background”. It produces 510 PS (503 HP) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque and will get you from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.9 seconds.
The BMW M3, on the other hand, packs “only” 431 PS (425 HP) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque, and needs 4.1 seconds to hit 100 km/h if you opt for the 7-speed DCT transmission (the 6-speed manual takes 4.3 seconds).
Both of these cars are stock, and seen as how they raced from a standstill as well as a roll, we can safely conclude that the end-result leaves very little to the imagination.
Naturally, straight line acceleration is not the only thing one considers when it comes to premium sports sedans, as handling and quality, to name but two, also come into play, it certainly can’t be overlooked. And while numbers on a sheet of paper are nice, what happens when they are actually raced against each other? Click and find out.
