A 21-year old man was arrested in connection with a dramatic car crash that occurred last week in New Orleans, Louisiana.
According to NOLA, troopers attempted to stop the vehicle around 10:10 PM for failure to display tags properly. The driver however refused to stop and eventually ran a red light at St. Claude and Elysian Fields avenues, which resulted in him hitting another vehicle before making contact with a pole, flipping over.
The driver did manage to flee on foot temporarily, with police attempting to immobilize him using a taser. He was later apprehended by troopers and identified as 21-year old Bickett Theophile. Charges brought against him are as follows: aggravated flight from an officer, resisting an officer by flight, reckless driving and a hit and run. Apparently, he also had an active warrant out for second-degree battery, and was previously booked on allegations of theft.
State Police said that both the suspect as well as the driver of the other vehicle, one Elise Milani, suffered only minor injuries, the latter however refusing aid on the scene.
As for the nature of the crash, all we can say is that walking away from that harsh of an impact on your own two feet is pretty remarkable.
