What you’re looking at is the Everus EV Concept, a vehicle spawned from the joint venture between Honda and Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC). Unveiled at the ongoing Beijing Auto Show, the vehicle previews the first mass-production EV which Honda will develop exclusively for the Chinese market.
At the time of writing, Honda and GAC had unveiled revealed a single image of the concept and failed to divulge any technical specifications.
Familiar looks but with a futuristic twist
From a design point, the Everus EV Concept is similar in size to the Honda HR-V and also adopts a number of familiar design elements from that model, including the aggressive crease running along the doors, a similar roofline, largely identical A-, B-, and C-pillars and taillights that also bulge out of the rear flanks.
Honda hasn’t said how similar the production model will look to this concept but asserts that local sales of the model will commence before the end of the year.
Those consumers not willing to purchase the Everus EV will have the opportunity to drive it through a car-sharing service offered by Reachstar, a Chinese company with expertise in car sharing services.
The Everus EV Concept forms part of Honda’s plan to present more than 20 new electrified models before the end of 2025.
