Perhaps the only thing harder to tolerate than freezing your behind off while you’re waiting for your car to heat up, is having to sweat it out in the middle of a heat wave waiting for the A/C to cool down the cabin.
In the all-new BMW 5-Series, ensuring that the car’s interior remains at a comfortable temperature in the summer is pretty easy, as demonstrated with the help of an M550i xDrive.
It all starts with you raising the sun blind before you leave the car. The G30 5er comes equipped with a Comfort Ventilation function, found in My Vehicle – Vehicle Settings – Climate Functions. Once you click it, you can simply check a box to activate the system and then set a specific departure time on any given day or days. The 5-Series will then ventilate the cabin at your selected time, although the car needs to be started at least once between two departure times.
The more options you purchase, the cooler you’re gonna be
If you have ventilated seats, you can also select a specific temperature for whenever you might want your seats ventilated automatically. But that’s not all. Even if you already have a time set for ventilation, you can override it by using the BMW Connected app, where all you need to do is press and hold the ‘Activate Now’ button.
