Based on a great number of reactions to Mercedes-Maybach’s recently unveiled Ultimate Luxury Concept, the automaker didn’t quite nail it with regards to exterior design.
Instead of a GLS-like SUV, which is what we were expecting, we got something that looks more like a high-riding saloon, as if somebody had already taken the vehicle to a tuner, modded the ride height and gave it ultra large fenders and wheels.
Of course, if you happen to like that sort of thing, then we totally understand. But if you generally prefer more conventional designs, then you might be interested in checking out this render by Aksyonov Nikita, who took the concept car and performed some segment altering digital surgery on it.
As you can see, it now has a different shoulder line, different windows and a tailgate, although we’re still not blown away by the rear end design.
From a front 3/4 angle though, it’s definitely not bad. In fact, we’re willing to go as far as to say that if this had been the real concept, it may very well have previewed something that could have taken on the Rolls-Royce Cullinan in the future. After all, who’d say no to a genuine ultra-large SUV from Mercedes-Maybach?
