It’s not exactly the Nurburgring or Spa Francorchamps, but Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours used to stage the Formula One French Grand Prix from 1991 until 2008.
The 4.4km (2.7mi) long track is located in central France, near the town of Magny-Cours, and in ‘Club’ format, it is 1.7 km (1.1 miles) long and has 11 turns.
But why would you be interested in that? Well, because the new Club lap record holder is the Lamborghini Huracan Performante. The Italian supercar was raced by Motorsport Magazine recentl, and posted a time of 1:17.17, turning out to be faster than the McLaren 675LT, Corvette C7 Z06 and Porsche 911 GT3.

The entire run was filmed from inside the car and it includes some very sharp turns. As a bonus the publication shows the Raging Bull power sliding through some of the corners, so the footage is as exciting as it should be.
Flat-out, the Huracan Performante will do over 325km/h (202mph) and needs just 2.9 seconds for the 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint. Its naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine develops 640PS (631hp) and 600Nm (443lb-ft) of torque, and in addition to having more power, it also gets some clever aerodynamic and engineering updates over the regular versions of the supercar.
It’ll be interesting to see the new Porsche 911 GT2 RS tackling Magny-Cours, as it’s the car that blew the Lambo’s Nurburgring lap record last year by almost 5 seconds. For the moment, though, we’ll just enjoy the Lambo’s run in the video that follows.
