McLaren revealed the new Design Editions of the 570S Spider, which are designed to help customers with the specification of their new drop-top sports car.

The new McLaren 570S Spider Design Edition comes in five different specs, with each one being “carefully curated by McLaren Automotive designers” in order to ensure that the colors, materials and finishes complement each other.

Each Design Edition is based around a special body paint: Silica White, Storm Grey, Vermillion Red, Onyx Black or Vega Blue. Depending on the exterior color, the interior theme is different, with the British manufacturer offering four sporting schemes and one with a more luxury accent.

“There is a virtually limitless number of different personalisation opportunities for the McLaren 570S Spider and who better to begin the process than the people who designed it?” commented McLaren Automotive Design Director, Rob Melville.

“We have selected key exterior and interior colors and finishes that we believe showcase the 570S Spider in the most desirable way and are offering them as Design Editions that we as designers would choose.”

The car pictured is finished in Onyx Black and comes with a body-colored retractable hard top, 10-spoke forged alloy wheels with a Stealth finish and McLaren Orange brake calipers.

The interior of the Onyx Black Design Edition features Carbon Black Alcantara, McLaren Orange nappa leather, perforated seats with contrast stitching, a color-coordinated steering wheel and leather sill finishers with the McLaren logo on them.

The cost of the Design Edition packages adds between £8,100 and £10,700 to the starting price of the McLaren 570S Spider, which is £164,750 in the UK.
