The new Mercedes-AMG E53 4Matic+ has landed in Britain, where they can be ordered from £61,835 ($86,173) for the Saloon and £63,835 ($88,960) for the Estate.

Replacing the old AMG E43, both cars use a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six engine with an EQ Boost starter-alternator, positioned between the internal combustion unit and gearbox.

The assembly delivers a combined output of 435PS (429hp / 320kW) and 520Nm (384lb-ft) of torque to the all-wheel drive system through a 9-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Top speed is electronically capped at 250km/h (155mph) and 0-100km/h (0-62mph) takes 4.5 seconds.

Mercedes-AMG states that in this form, the new E53 4Matic+ delivers up to 32.5 mpg UK (8.7 l/100 km / 27 mpg US) on average and emits 200 g/km of CO2.

Standard equipment includes plenty of AMG gear, such as the Ride Control suspension, performance exhaust, Dynamic Select and 19-inch alloy wheels. It also gets the dual-screen layout inside, with two 12.3-inch displays, Nappa leather with contrast stitching, wireless phone charging and others.

The company is asking £2,595 ($3,616) for the Premium Plus equipment line, which adds a Burmester sound system, Keyless-Go Comfort package and a panoramic glass roof.

Bringing the Air Balance and Energizing Comfort Control to the E53 models is the Comfort package, which costs £395 ($550), while the Driving Assistance Plus package comes at a £1,695 ($2,362) premium.
