A new BMW ad tells the scripted story of a modern family with a passion for M-branded cars.
The 1-minute long commercial kicks off with the clock hitting 5pm, and shows a mother heading towards her 2018 BMW M5, with M Performance parts. Before opening the door, the woman stops for a few seconds to admire the super sedan, taking off her M-branded (of course) sunglasses.
On the way home, the road is closed, forcing her to take a detour through a track, so this is where the new BMW M5 comes to life. It has 600hp (609PS) and 553lb-ft (748Nm) of torque produced by the twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine and channeled to the unique all-wheel drive system through an eight-speed DCT.
Naught to 60mph (0-96km/h) takes as little as 3.2sec, and with the optional M Driver’s Package, top speed increases to 189mph (304km/h).

During this time, the kid is playing with yet another M5, the older E60, known for its 5.0-liter V10 engine that feeds 500hp (507PS) and 384lb-ft (520Nm) of torque to the rear wheels.
Just as mom is pulling into the driveway, dad’s ride is visible in the garage for a few seconds: the M5 E39, which seems ready to unleash its 400hp developed by the 4.9-liter V8 engine.
