After the most successful year in their history, Porsche is rewarding its employees with a special bonus of up to €9,656 ($11,864).

Part of an agreement reached by the Group Works Council and Porsche Executive Board, the bonus has two components. The first one includes €8,600 ($10,566) for “exceptional performance of staff during the 2017 financial year”, and the second one is a special contribution of €700 ($860) to the pension schemes.

Porsche AG employees will also get a €356 ($437) bonus that marks 70 years since production of the 356 model started, back in 1948. Benefiting from these bonuses will be around 23,000 employees, and the amount they receive will be adjusted to their individual working hours and length of service at the automaker.

“Porsche employees deserve every cent of the bonus that they are getting this year“, said Chairman of the Group Works Council, Uwe Huck. “After all, these outstanding results were not handed to us on a plate – they were achieved with a lot of hard work. “This is why I am really proud of our Porsche team and their outstanding performance. Our motto is: Less talk, more action.”

Deliveries of Porsche vehicles increased by 4 percent, during the 2017 financial year, to 246,000 units. This led to a revenue of €23.5 billion (~$29 billion) and an operating result of €4.1 billion (~$5 billion). At the same time, workforce increased by 8 percent to 29,777 employees.

At the end of the 2016 financial year, the company’s employees were rewarded with a €9,111 ($11,194) bonus. The year before they got €8,911 ($10,948), and another €8,600 ($10,566) were handed over for the 2014 financial year, whereas for 2013, they received €8,200 ($10,075).
