An unlicensed 19-year-old in the United States has crashed a white McLaren 720S into a parked Audi R8, causing severe damage to both supercars.
A Redditor claims that the male driver took out his sister’s 720S for a spin, foolishly decided to turn off the traction control system, and attempted a hard launch. Things went very bad, very quickly.
Don’t mess with a RWD car that has 700 hp
Footage of the crash shows the British supercar accelerating away before the rear wheels start to lose traction as the driver applies too much throttle. Before long, the 19-year-old has to deal with a brutal tank slapper but is unable to catch the slide. The 720S then slams into a parked Audi R8, as if simply wrecking a McLaren wasn’t enough.
It’s claimed that after the crash, the driver fled the scene and his sister soon arrived in a Lamborghini and attempted to take the blame for the crash. However, the male driver is said to have left his passport in the car.
The video cuts off almost immediately after the crash so it’s difficult to be sure of the full extent of the damage sustained by the two cars. With that being said, the entire front fascia of the 720S appears to have been crumpled and will almost certainly cost an arm and a leg to repair.
